4-022: Aboard Snark 416

Oliver spends some time putting together the encrypted blob cracking work.  The ship is approaching the Argyropoulos Way Station when he realises the first try isn’t going to work in a timely way; his first program is too slow and he’s going to need a supercomputer to crack the blobs in anything resembling a timely fashion.  He does then discover (hooray for rolling a 5!) a piece of software on the drive that looks like it might have been used to encrypt the blobs –  perhaps if he can reverse engineer that it might help?

He goes to sleep pondering that problem on 211.316 and is awoken after too short a sleep to go to the control room.  The ship is approaching Argyropoulos orbit and Halcyon wants him on sensors and comms.

Argyropoulos is one of the Dominion’s larger Way Stations and there are a number of other ships on the sensors as Snark 416 approaches the orbital station; Argyropulos is busy enough that it has an orbital station circling the small rocky world, a substantial facility on the world’s moonlet and a large port on the planet itself.  The ship has been directed to approach the orbital station, and dock for transit clearance.  Apparently the orbital station is where official ships, such as this Vizierate-operated courier, are normally docked.

Dicard seems excited at the prospect of getting off the ship for a while, and says he wants to stay over for a Cycle.

The ship docks with the station at RB08.

What does Oliver want to do?

  1. Oliver Starr says:

Get my sleep back once I’m relieved of duty. – 11 on my light sleep roll (opposing 12)

Try that reverse engineering thing I thought about.

Finish up those notebooks and work on a report I can write to hand to Frederick.

Visit Doctor Fromm for another session of Burn fixing.

Is there any available shopping to do on the station? Perhaps enough to build a small toy that does something minuscule and not very useful with my new electrical engineering hobby?

Also I think I’d like to put my final point into Sensors as I feel that makes sense.

I’m not… overly thinking about the ‘game’ aspect of it all. I’m taking stuff that makes sense and feels accurate for what Oliver would like to know as a character.
