When he digs a bit, Oliver realises has never seen anything quite like these particular data blobs before.

I’d suggest he’s going to use some of those rolls to investigate more closely and then write a program to help him do that.

That will take him about a Cycle, including sleep time, but he can keep working during his watch.

I’ll assume that’s what he will do, unless you say otherwise.

Having done that, he believes that these files are the output of a piece of encryption software he’s not encountered before.

Assuming you don’t get him to do something else, it’s now 211.311 GYY.  Also, when I’ve been keeping track of time, I have been assuming Oliver sleeps during Red Shift and sits his watch during Blue Shift.
