F-597: Mundo Zargo Downport, Main Concourse
Up to you two how much detail you want to go into regarding the shopping experience.
For noting:
- Even Forerunners who hold down regular jobs and not some sort of leadership or government role often tend to dress a little better than average. However, I have a sense that Oliver tends to dress like a regular Silver tag non-government worker, though I could equally imagine he dresses in good quality clothes in a daggy style out of habit of his upbringing – up to the player to decide (though his Disadvantages lead me to think it’s more likely the former).
- One set of suitable good clothes for Oliver will cost ʄ250 to ʄ500, depending on whether he wants to dress more to the Silver or the Gold end of things.
- fyi, refer pages B265-6 for the relevant GURPS rules on this stuff
- Allowing Lia to dress him will give Oliver a potential social bonus from her Fashion Sense Advantage until he undresses or otherwise gets himself into disarray.
- Prrri will stand-by and silently observe the process, one ear up and one down.
We don’t actually have to play the experience. I imagine Lia will advise and Oliver will go along for the most part, until it comes to price. She is used to spending far more than he is on clothing!
We could do a quick contest of some kind to see who wins the argument? GM can choose the skills?
Oliver is aware this is for a work thing and will be /willing/ to spend higher if he has to.
How about if Lia makes some sort of persuasive roll and it’ll effect Oliver’s miserliness check depending on the result?
Works for me!
9 vs 16 Fast-Talk + 3 Charisma 😉
Just to be clear, you’re welcome to use rolls or a quick contest like this to guide your roleplay if you wish, but you’re not required to do so.
10 vs 12 – Lia’s Bonus I’ll say she convinces him to buy the more expensive outfit.
Huzzah! She will be pleased by the victory.
Time to grab food and head to their meeting.
