3-202: In the Office of Argyle’s Lodge

Removing the flare is not without risk as he has to lean in some, but he is able to remove the flare without setting anything off.

The trap is above the centre of the room.  The Doors are a bit over a metre long and a bit under a metre wide.

Dicard says, “OK”, and doesn’t seem to be trying to dissuade Oliver from doing the dangerous part.

Oliver moves carefully into the room, mounts the table and from his perch examines the computer; so far he is not on fire.

Judging by the hardware attachments on the case, Oliver believes that what he is looking at is probably a peer-to-peer server that mirrors the one destroyed in the Common Room.  That is, a pair of high-end machines backing each other up and each probably capable of being used as a workstation or control centre.  There is an optical fibre bundle coming out of a router attached to this machine and leading up the wall to the false ceiling where it goes through a small hole.  The bundle is far thicker than needed to control just the ceiling trap (if it controls the trap at all).  He also notes a small optical lead breaking off the bundle and going to each of the windows.  The machine has a power line to a wall socket, and there is a separate power line for the router, but either there is power through these wall outlets or they both have internal power supplies as well.

FYI, there is a printer on the desk too, connected to the router, but it is powered off.

How many leads are running directly out of the computer? I’m thinking I probably want to remove all the lines and just take the box… is it secured at all?
