3-162: In the Pipe Run of Argyle’s Lodge III

It does look like it has been set to prevent people coming up the tunnel in the opposite direction to which you are travelling.  ‘Safe’ might be a relative term though, if it is a Claymore (and it seems to be) the shrapnel is designed to come out of only one side, however, it is still a comparatively thin metal box full of explosives and close enough to read the writing is almost certainly way too close for safety if it goes off.

There is no obvious sensor array on it, and Oliver has already partially exposed himself to its front when he read the words.

Oliver can roll Lockpick-3 or IQ-5 to try and figure out the mechanism.

He can try and curiously press and pull things at random and see if that helps.  (I’m not going to require a Curiosity control roll in the face of obviously potentially lethal consequences.)

He can roll PER to further examine the area.

He can ignore it and figure that since it didn’t go off when he was looking at it earlier it must be safe and continue down the tunnel.

Or something else…

  1. Oliver Starr says:

“I think it’s clear this way, I doubt he’d come out the back and ignore all his vehicles. Where does he have to go? Unless you want to try to set off the claymore with my electrolaser.”
