3-158: In the Utility Conduit of Argyle’s Lodge III
The pipes are slightly awkward to get across where they transition from the trench to the wall to the opening. There are scuff marks and a hand print in the dust on top of the pipes.
The opening is to a circular tunnel about 1.2m in diameter, it slopes downwards at about a twenty-to-thirty degree angle. The pipes run along the left-hand wall of the tunnel and there are what seem to be metal hand/foot holds on the bottom. A draft of cold air is blowing out of the opening.
As well as the pipes there are two cable bundles running out of the tunnel and up the wall. One looks original – it is attached by cable holders that have been screwed in and painted over, and the other seems to have been added at some point after, being secured with lengths of hand-crimped tie wire around one of the pipes.
“Perhaps he escaped this way, we should keep moving.”
