F-163-Oliver: Spanial (Hyperspace to Mundo Zargo)

Normally, yes.  This way, no – it’s a wide-open back door.

You have to:

  • know it’s there;
  • know the specific details of exactly how to access and communicate with the sub-systems;
  • have a physical connection to the ship’s comms infrastructure.

But if you have those things, it’s an open connection that operates on a level the existing security doesn’t even see.

Oliver might be able to extend the ship’s security and firewalls to include that extra module, but he’ll need to be careful – once he brings that connection inside the firewall, it becomes able to be logged and audited.

    So mostly it depends if they want the security hole or the ability to be silent.
