F-146-Lia: Spanial (Hyperspace to Mundo Zargo), Control

Ipan studies the files for several moments.

“Uh, looks like we have a set of of binary-formatted files.  Some of these are a common format designed to store an audio signal, but really, they can be used to store any sort of waveform, and that’s what’s been done here:  Look at this one which I think is, uh, a heart monitor signal-“

He taps his console and one of the big screens shows what does look like an ECG trace.

“This one’s different…”

He plays with his console for a while, a bunch of dense symbols resolves into something that Lia recognises as mostly dates and times, “I think it’s a series of timestamps…”

He opens the Configuration file and has a look.

“Ah, I get it – this series of settings here controls which file holds what data from what suit sensor or system output…”

He trails off, studying the entries, “So the heart one is, yeah, an ECG trace, we have oxygen saturation, oxygen consumption, power consumption, power remaining, heliox mix…

“That one with the timestamps looks like whether the suit’s comms system was receiving or transmitting.  There’s some other ones with timestamps, like, uh… whether the suit’s external light was on or off, whether the helmet was on or off, this one here looks like a general event log, but the events are just codes and we’d have to know what they meant.”

He looks to Lia, “does that help?”

    She’s frowning, following along.

“I think so. So it’s all normal readings that would be collected by the suit he was wearing?”
