3-045: Aboard the Aerostat II
It takes a little longer than planned to get to Argyle’s lodge. You don’t have precise knowledge of the lodge’s location so can’t just fly a straight course; Alan has been following the road and he has to slow down when it gets dark so he can see where he has to go.
However, after a while he turns off the vehicle’s running lights and says, “It’s just up ahead. How high are we going in over the fence?”
You can see the shape of the hill with the lodge on it ahead in the moonlight. There are no lights on at the lodge that you can see.
The weather is clear with a light gusty breeze and about 10% cloud cover. The outside temperature is -25°C.
Having been following the road, the Aerostat is approaching from the same direction you came in previously – you’ll fly in over the gate if you maintain your current course.
Previously I think everyone said they would opt for full arctic gear.
Re equipment, based on previous conversations:
- Weaponry
- Alan has 2x 9mm Pistols and 5x 18-shot clips
- Dicard has an Electrolaser pistol with 5x 36-shot power cells
- Christopher has a 10mm Pistol with 5x 20-shot clips and a semi-automatic 12 gauge shotgun (5 shells in internal magazine) and 20 extra shells in an ammo belt.
- Oliver has an Electrolaser pistol with 5x 36-shot power cells
- Light
- I will assume everyone has obtained a hand torch of various sizes and quality from somewhere; there are two in the Aerostat, Chris has acquired a pen torch from somewhere and Dicard seems to have swiped one from the Crawler.
- Protective gear
- Artic clothing (all)
- Alan has a Ballistic Suit – he is lightly encumbered wearing it plus his cold weather gear
- Anything written on character sheets (I think only Oliver has)
- The Aerostat has a survival kit, a first aid kit, a small toolkit and two small fire extinguishers
I’ll take the toolkit if it’s portable enough to not slow me down.
“About three stories high should be fine. I want to be dropped right at the door.
If the turrets are active the ship will be the first target so ready for a quick exit. Get against the wall, he’ll be hesitant to shoot at his own house. Chris, stand next to the door so you get immediate vision as it swings open, Dicard beside him and Halcyon beside me. I’ll be closest to the handle and will be the one to open the door.
Shoot if he’s ready for a firefight, otherwise try and subdue him non lethally.”
I will do as described, checking the door to see if it’s locked, then attempting to breach it with the appropriate items if it is. If not, I’ll give Chris a nod, wait for a response and open the door.
I won’t draw a weapon until I hear shooting.
