3-007: About 60km From the Hunting Lodge(s)

Alan is feeling tired.  It was a long time getting here and he has been driving the big vehicle through the dark on a snowy, treacherous road where the contrast of white and dark give little relief to the eyes.

He pulls the Crawler to a stop in the lee of a cluster of arrow-shaped vegetation, like triangular cacti.  A stiff breeze has blown up and is making flurries in the snow on the ground.  To the right the sky is clear and stars shine like sharp jewels; to the left and nearly overhead clouds are blotting them out.

The trip has been quiet, with everyone apparently lost in their own thoughts or perhaps playing with personal electronics…

  1. Oliver Starr says:

Unless he’s taking a nap, I will approach Alan and say. “What brought you to join the legion? Why did you leave?” On the second half of the journey I’ll study some data on electrical engineering, granted I was able to get some before we got here.

  2. Overlord Frank says:

Due to the vagaries of life, Richard temporarily moves into NPC mode:

“I’ll say [NPC mode] until further notice.

    Keep these in mind:
    – Greed
    – Money
    – Cash money
    – Dolla dolla
    – Paper bills”

  3. Alan Halcyon says:

Alain: “Joined the legion when it seemed like the only thing at the time to keep me outta trouble as a youngster. and i left well close to 30 years of service grates on a man you know went through hell and back too many times. I did my part and I’m no spring chicken anymore and I ain’t no pencil pusher so that’s why I left. so young man what got you dragged into this mess?”

  4. Oliver Starr says:

“I see few of us are here because we want to be…”
Oliver takes a mental note to check out Alan’s profile in the future if possible.
“I did some things that aren’t smiled upon by the Legion, after being a candidate for one of their specialty divisions. Based on what’s happened recently, I want to say they found out what I did and now I’m paying off my debt. Could be worse I suppose.
Thanks for sharing, I’ll let you rest up.”
I’ll return to my seat and read a book if there’s nothing left to be said.
