About Oliver

Gregar and Glasses

“Good.”

Hopper

“We’re still on shore leave, it can wait until we’re under way.  I was asking more if she’d briefed you.

“We picked the Hopper up cheap because it didn’t have its flight control software installed, and it didn’t come with any manuals.  Gregar and Ipan worked together to install what it arrived with, and Kwint found a hardcopy of a flight manual, but that still wasn’t complete doco.

“Anyway, it nearly got out of control on the test flight but Lia managed to recover it.  We sorted that out, and it’s been working fine since, but I’m worried it’s got more hidden bugs.  Gregar’s the closest we have to a software expert, but he isn’t one and admits it.

“I want it checked out to make sure there are no other nasty surprises waiting for us.  Can you do that?”

  1. Oliver Starr says:

    Jennie:
“Ah, compartmentalizing which parts work and which parts rest at alternating times. Makes sense.”
“No, I agree, but when I have a problem rest takes a back seat.” He smiles.

    Oliver:
He listens to the story, taking mental notes. “Hmm. That’s dangerous. If the software is all there and it’s just bug hunting, that’s easy but potentially tedious work.”
His face screws a little. “But if there’s missing chunks I might need some material to understand the machine better.”
