While Prrri doesn’t discount the possibility of some ranged alien weapon, he’s inclined to go along with the general idea that something grabbed onto the hull, weakened it’s underlying structure and broke the Cyprinidae in half at that point.

  

Working Out

As she’s evaluating Kort, he subtly shifts his weight and moves one foot slightly.  It’s possible he’s not even conscious of the movement, but he’s balanced to defend against a possible attack from her. 

He nods, just slightly, “we don’t all have the luxury of a palladium brick in our cribs.  All the more reason to develop martial discipline.”
