A-212: Spanial, Mostly Lia’s Cabin/Lab
Lia Day 43
It’s a strange material; sometimes it behaves like a metal and other times like a ceramic or a rock crystal. It’s non-conductive, but has the visual appearance of metal. Cold doesn’t seem to bother it at all. It’s moderately resistant to heat but your sample catches fire at a few hundred degrees. It has reasonable insulating properties. It’s not terribly hard: Diamond and hardened steel scratches it but it’s harder than aluminium. It’s difficult to tell without damaging the oval, but it seems to be somewhat malleable, yet not ductile at all.

Kort says, “I like you Lia, but you’re not paying my bills, and there’s no profit in me making an enemy of the big man over some alien junk I’ll probably never understand. That said, I have a possible nice deal going with the Captain so I have no desire to burn any of you. It’s in all out interests to work together.”

Adler
Yes, it was the Resources Bureau that Adler was running.
By the Pricking of My Thumbs – The Storage Widget
Lia copies the files, presumably onto a storage widget of her own.
Gregar’s response is, “seems there’s quite an operation on.”
When Lia pulls out the image, Gregar looks questioningly at Prrri and the Felline’s ears go flat. He makes a little yowl at Lia.

Commissioned Piece
OK, we’ll leave it’s owner as something known to Lia but not us for the moment.
Lia is rather fascinated with this substance and will take another small sample. She will put it in with her jewelery materials. She will also add several samples of the scales and mesh to those materials.
She will give Kort quite a lengthy once over, her expression unreadable. She sighs.
“Against my better judgement, my research will probably be going to the man who pays your bills anyway, so I suppose it doesn’t matter if you’re informed.”
She pauses and narrows her eyes a little.
“Actually it’s probably a nice change for you to actually know what you’re involved in.”
She will invite him to sit down and give him a rundown of what she’s discovered so far, including the contents of the storage widgets.
In response to Prrri’s yowl, Lia will give him a look.
“This scan was made by me because I am a naturally untrusting human and I simply don’t want anything in my Cargo Hold that I can’t identify.”
Pause as she eyeballs both of them.
“Now that we’ve cleared that up, can anyone tell me what the hell this is? It’s clearly the ‘other samples’ they were discussing on the widget…”
