I think the cause of confusion might be the mention of red-coloured ice crystals (blood) in 8-400.

The capsules and threads are a gold colour (we can just assume Lia said that to Gregar.)

    Ahhh, you may be right. I think because early on I wondered if the threads were frozen blood as well, that might have mixed things in my head.
