A-036: Spanial, Lia’s Cabin
It’s very difficult to cut from the shiny scale side with just manual tools. However, while not easy to cut the rubbery, tough mesh side it can be done, and with the substrate cut, the scales just fall away from each other.
The scale side can be cut with power tools or a laser; it’s easiest to go in at an angle. The laser is much less efficient than a mechanical cutting interface, it seems to partially weld the scale along the cutting line causing them to stick together and lose flexibility.
She will separate a small section of scale from the mesh and put them in different containers. What does the mesh look like through the loupe?
