The PSO starts and reverses the vehicle then pulls forward over the little bridge that is the entrance to the Admin Vehicle Park, crossing the deep gutter that separates it from the internal mine road. He turns onto the road, which sweeps around to the right in a gentle downhill slope toward the intersection with the main gate road. The white skidoo is a couple of hundred metres ahead.
At this point it’s daylight with an overcast sky and a very light snowfall in still air.
The PSO hits a control and the Patrol Vehicle starts flashing red and white lights with a lot of UV spectrum in them – the red and white flashes reflecting back to Oliver from the snow.
