9-139: Pristine – The Track to Argyle’s Lodge

Nightmare Meta

I guess it depends, with GURPS mechanics -1 to a skill you’re not very proficient at can make a big difference; -1 to a skill you are an expert at doesn’t matter that much (I guess there’s a reason they say you can do in your sleep!)

Breakfast and Go

Fromm gives Oliver a skeptical look, but seems to accept his explanation.

Everyone grabs their gear and piles into the Crawler.  It’s dark when they leave, and there’s a light on in Wu’s outbuilding; Oliver can see Wu sitting astride his caterpillar vehicle watching them go.

Alan pulls the Crawler out of the lodge’s vehicle park and drives to the turn-off before proceeding along the much rougher and narrower track to Argyle’s lodge.

The star will climb over the horizon 3 Tasks after they leave Peyton’s Lodge.

It’s about two full Jobs to get to Argyle’s, the Crawler being limited to about half-speed on this road.

Alan will want a break about lunch time and he will stop for a bite and a toilet break.

Planning

What will Oliver do on the journey?

Does he want to do anything at the lunch break?

On approach to Argyle’s lodge, how do the team want to handle it?

Any questions?

  1. Oliver Starr says:

Oliver will do a mix of reading, failing to sleep, keeping sustained and planning in his head how to tackle Argyle’s compound. That’s for the trip and the break.

Can we tell if the compound seems inhabited from a distance?
Was there any weapons on the outer gate other than the anti-air ones?
If not, they will drive up the gate and Oliver will try and techie his way in, if he can.
