9-036: Maldemar 732, in Jump to Pristine
You texted:
“Cool movie! Is Oliver noticing any pattern with the films? There seems to be a running theme of censorship? It’s a small sample so far, though.
Oliver won’t change his routine but will take some time to ask Dicard what the plan is after they land, if there’s time.”
Films
(Why the hell are they called films, anyway?)
Aside from the story, it has fairly good production values and the acting is excellent.
As you suggest, he may need to expand his sample size. Is he going to watch more, if so which ones?
Dicard
Well, he has 10 Cycles before they get to the Pristine system, then however long to get to the planet, so I think there’s time.
Dicard suggests they talk in Control.
When they meet he responds, “well, our four primary objectives are:
“One: Recover the The Argyle Notebook;
“Two: Locate and, if possible, capture Willard Argyle,” he pauses, frowns, “Abbas Lozenge-Sok. I think I’ll stick with calling him Argyle.”
He continues, “Three: Recover any additional materials he is working on;
“Four: Collect and report on any additional information relating to his work on current, past or intended projects.
“And, our four secondary objectives are:
“Secondary one: Continue to research Argyle’s existing, and any newly obtained, archival works. That’s not immediately related to Pristine.
“Secondary two: Recover Argyle’s chip emulator from the Pristine Hunting Lodge, or ensure it is destroyed.
“Secondary three: Report on any of Argyle’s past or present associates.
“Secondary four: Determine Argyle’s intentions for use of his knowledge.”
He looks at Oliver, “any thoughts on how we should proceed?”
Holovids:
Inhabitant Gumm and Leader Gumm
Dicard:
“Well, I think we should follow up with the Wardens, then revisit the hunting lodge.”
