Introduction

Human Dominion Mers fall into four social classes.  In descending order of social desirability they are as follows:  

• Forerunner
• Hybrid
• Unclassified
• Geneered

These reflect the degree to which individuals are related to the Dominion’s founders or ‘forerunners’ or originate from artificial reproductive and genetic engineering techniques.  Founder heritage is more desirable.

Over time, as the genetically engineered interbreed with others of the population, their lineage is classed as Hybrid or eventually even Forerunner.  The Unclassified category exists for those Mers that cannot be assigned one of the other social classes.  These people are usually either immigrants, the children of immigrants, or rare cases of unidentified orphans. 

Felline in the Dominion fall outside this system and are classed as ‘Alien’.

In addition, certain family names in the Dominion come with extra degrees of social respectability.

Geneered gives -1 status

Unclassified status adjustment may vary depending on the reason for the ‘U’ assignment.

PCs may start as ‘F’ at no cost (because I hadn’t fully thought this out when you created your characters 😛 ) or take H for an extra 5 points or G for an extra 10 points.
