Yay! for Oliver…
Indeed, it seems Oliver has figured out how to do one of the things that the Dominion is terrified someone will figure out how to do; one of the reasons this mission exists is to figure out how much of a threat Argyle is if he knows how to do stuff like that.
I’ll let you and Oliver ponder that.
Ship Routine
I asked about shipboard routine to see if Oliver is completely isolated from the rest of the team or if he has opportunities for casual interaction and whether the rest of the team are likely to remember what he looks like when they next meet.
In general:
- Erin and Chris are friendly
- though Chris can be moody
- and Erin is often up for a chat if Oliver will engage with her
- Alan is perpetually grumpy about whatever is happening but seems harmless
- Dicard feels obliged to ask how he’s progressing
- Fromm is cordial but doesn’t generally offer conversation, though he will talk if Oliver talks to him
- Ahbineet hasn’t actually spoken, but nods at Oliver enthusiastically if they happen to bump into each other
IT Project #35
At GR06 on 211.396, Oliver completes his research into IT project #35.
This project dates initially from circa 209.6 and appears to run concurrently for some time with other work.
He seems to be trying to decrypt a large number of small files and is supplying the decrypted results to whoever has engaged him over a period of time. At one point there is a comment about how the make-shift server room is exceeding the ability of his solar collectors and he’s had to rent some extra charged power cells from Wu.
The decrypted files aren’t there, but there’s a second encrypted blob that is probably them in their original form, inside which each is apparently separately encrypted. Oliver’s investigation suggests that the original source is probably the Planning Bureau in Octant 3.
Yay! For Oliver…
Indeed… Oliver moves his findings to his personal laptop and removes them from any other computers.
Ship Routine
Okay, Oliver is probably mentally working during many of his meals so I doubt at the moment he’s being very responsive.
Next
He will keep to the schedule I have outlined, you said he has 5 or 6 equal slices of time he can spend as he wishes,
I’ll go back to 2 on Books 2 on IT 1 on Rec and 1 on Study/Invention. Now that he’s finished that side project.
