8-018: Merchant Freighter Spanial – Control

Questions

Dominion accents

I imagine there are regional accents in the Dominion to an extent, but not in any particular vein, except in a couple of cases.

One specific:  Parts of the Northern United States were settled by Scandinavians and that has had an effect on their use of English today (see the film & TV show Fargo) – I imagine Karmen speaks like that.

I also imagined that people who are raised in the high-tech enclaves tend to be more precise in their speech vs generally lower class people who will tend to be H’s and G’s tend to use more contractions and slang.  Think British upper and lower class.

So yes, certain aspects of the Dominion could sound like the Death Star Conference Room

Karmen and Cargo

Karmen says that the cargo is a refrigerated container pod of some kind.  It has an internal power source but it’s currently plugged into the ship’s external power.  She says that their guest and their employer have both been unwilling to say what’s in it, and their passenger has asked that no one go near it without him being present.

Lia in Control

Spanial is under way, so someone has to be in Control.

Ipan will relieve Lia at Blue Shift change, “Uh, hey Lia.  My shift, everything alright?”

She can do Jewelry stuff in Blue Shift.

Unless she wants to do anything in particular we might skip forward a bit?

  1. Lia Silver-Rose says:

She will be a bit bored in Control so might do some reading in addition to the manual and sim.

She’ll happily greet Ipan and report no issues, then scoot back to her quarters to change and do a decent workout, since she’s missed her last couple.

I’m happy to skip ahead unless anything happens during her workout.
