7-191: Snow Lake – Taxi

I didn’t realise you imagined him wearing the vest already, I had it in the duffel bag.

But sure, and that’s hilarious, though Fromm doesn’t smile.

So while we’re on the subject, where’s Oliver’s pistol and spare ammo?  If he’s wearing the vest, Chris will be too, but Fromm is still in civvies, his vest in the bag unless Oliver has specifically asked him to put it on, though Oliver’s pretty sure Fromm has his weapon on him in a concealed-carry holster under his top.

I don’t think Oliver would know, but he may have just found out… give me an IQ roll and let’s see.

An Illuminating Journey

The driver senses something in Oliver’s tone, and doesn’t attempt further chit chat.  He steers down poorly-lit streets, briefly coming onto a busier, brighter strip with several other vehicles, mostly public transport and utility vans and trucks, before turning off into a quieter series of streets.

The buildings here are old, and in a state of some disrepair.  Unlike Purpleton, with its ornamental gardens and trees, this neighbourhood is a wasteland of stained and crumbling concrete buildings and houses separated by chain-link fences, with only the occasional spray of graffiti to break the grey-brown monotony.  The streets seem quiet, they’ve passed only a few cars and a few people.

After a while and a few turns he pulls the taxi off to the side, says, “The address you were after is up ahead and around the corner to the right Mers, are you-“

He cuts himself off from whatever he was going to say and says simply, “ʄ35.

I imagined it was a bit of a “you have to wear this while you have guns.” Kind of situation so I’m happy to have him wear it. We’ll say he kept his pistol in a bag for now but he’ll holster it after they get out of the cab.

    13 on IQ.

“Thank you, driver.” Oliver will pay off of his Dicard card.
He’ll hop out, holster the gun and walk following the directions he was given.
