7-169: Gibbs Block Conference Facilities

On 211.380 just before GG01, Oliver leaves Harmon Block and walks next door to Gibbs Block.  The star has set and risen and it is light again.  Overnight (a word that has meaning here) a storm has blown in and outside freezing rain is pelting down.

The Vizant in the foyer of Harmon Block offers him a lend of an umbrella.

Fromm and Chris appear behind him and together they can make the short walk to Gibbs Block.

In the foyer of Gibbs Block, another Vizant seems to be overseeing things.  They are asked to tag in and on doing so are directed through the security door to Room 110, which turns out to be a small meeting room.

Meeting with Dicard

Dicard is inside, sitting at a terminal near the middle of the room.  His travel case is with him on a nearby table he has pulled across beside him.

As they enter he invites everyone to take a seat.  The room is largely bare with a few spare tables along one wall and a square of work desks with terminals in the middle.

He glances at the clock on the wall, says, “Right, let’s get going.  I’m waiting for someone to join us and when they do we’ll deal with that.”

“So, you have three areas to investigate:  The Planning Bureau, MaPaCoA, and Bronze-Stepping.

“I’m waiting to hear back from the Planning Bureau, and you should be clear to visit MaPaCoA whenever you like.”

He reaches into a briefcase on the table next to him and withdraws three purple-coloured Money cards in authorisation sleeves.

“These are to cover your expenses related to the project.  There’s ʄ2,000 on each one.”

He hands them out, “They’re for project-specific expenses only, and I will be checking receipts.  I will message you all the policy documents related to their use.  Authorise yourselves and give the Sleeves back to me please, they’re my receipt.”

“Oliver, contact me if you need more.  Questions on that?”

He waits; neither Fromm nor Chris have questions, Oliver may.

“With regard to contact, I have a comms line set up so if I’m at a terminal you should be able to reach me.  If it is urgent and I am not available try Nanny.  In any sort of real emergency you can go through the Vizierate switchboard and quote Project Dicard-Fee-Ado-5 and request emergency assistance. With regard to-“

He is interrupted by his terminal beeping and presses a control.

A voice says, “Warden Kellog-Rixx-Frost-Chamkhanni is here to see you, Vizier.”

Dicard responds, “please send the Warden in.”

There will be a brief pause while the Warden arrives; does Oliver want to say or do anything at any point, or do you have questions?

  1. Oliver Starr says:

Oliver will take the umbrella and thank the vizant.

“Do we have a time limit on these official sites other than our already planned schedule? I think getting Bronze-Stepping quickly incase he pulls an Argyle on us could be smart.”

Oliver will authorize the card and return the sleeve and nod to the comment about more. “That should be fine, in an emergency I also have the extra card you gave us on the Illuminator.”

When Dicard mentions the Warden, Oliver will echo the title questioningly. “Warden?”

Oliver turns to get an eye on the Warden as he enters.
