7-143: Illuminator – Briefing Room 1201

Lunch

She doesn’t appear immediately convinced, but seems somewhat willing to accept that there could be mitigating circumstances to Fromm’s existence.

Meeting

Nanny (or Dicard) has booked the same briefing room they team met in previously.

Pre-Meeting

Dicard suggests Oliver omit the part about the security vulnerability at The Black Palace but seems OK with sharing everything else.

Introduction

After some mostly good-natured greetings, Nanny opens the meeting, and says she’d like everyone to report on their shipboard activities before everyone discusses the next stage of the project.  She goes around the table, although when it get’s to Oliver’s turn she skips him and says they’ll hear his report last.

Nanny’s Illumination

Nanny says she has been working with Richard on planning for the mission, tending to her other portfolio responsibilities, and taking advantage of the Illuminator’s facilities to engage in some self-development and personal training, “…and not,” she looks over her glasses at Oliver then Dicard, “spending half of each Cycle lazing about in my luxury cabin like some other people aboard this ship.”

Dicard’s Illumination

Dicard says that as well as doing some personal development of his own, he’s been analysing some of the Argyle data that Oliver found (IT Project #15) and it points to corruption in the Octant 3 Trade Bureau.  He observes that it’s interesting that someone apparently hired Argyle to analyse that data.

Erin’s Illumination

Erin has been studying the Illuminator’s engineering systems and is gushing about what she’s found.  She comments in particular about the impressive levels of automation the ship has, and is excited to see things she has only read about in theoretical texts actually put into practice on this ship.

Halcyon’s Illumination

Halcyon complains that he’s retired from big ships, gave this up years ago and doesn’t see why he should have been forced to waste his time hanging around a bunch of try-hard prune wannabe space jockeys.

It’s obvious he’s enjoyed himself, and possibly even learned something.

Chris’ Illumination

Chris is actually a little quiet, and apparently sober.  He’s had a crash course in Warden tactical operations, he seems proud of how he’s performed, but also respectful of the company he’s been in.

Fromm’s Illumination

From gives a crisp report that he has been undertaking some medical refresher training, has been practicing shifts in medical alongside the Vizierate crew and has some new equipment and supplies that he will be bringing along.

Oliver’s Illumination

Oliver gives his presentation as you have specified.

The third roll was for his presentation quality and your 7 indicates that it goes over very well.

His small audience is engaged and hanging off his story.

Dicard nods at the info about Barty and Lyanna, commenting that those are useful additional angles.

There are a few questions for Oliver on various points, mostly clarifications on small matters.

Chris frowns and asks, “Wait.  Did you say Argyle was working for the Vizierate at one point?”

  1. Oliver Starr says:

    Lunch:
Oliver will hand wave it, reinforcing that Fromm has been rather pleasant since the scenery change. He’s trying to put Fromm in a better position as his ally.

    Nanny:
Oliver ignores the topic knowing full well he spent at most two shifts at Mallory’s and has done at least as much if not more work than the others.

    Presentation:
Oliver turns to Dicard and Nanny after hearing Chris’s question and simply says “That’s the impression I’m given, unless I have made an error in interpretation?”
