They are half-way through the dessert and Mallory is telling Oliver a story about her graduation night from Vizierate academy at Octant 1 which, according to her, involved a lot more drinking than is usual for such an event.  She is just getting to the amusing part where she had to turn up the next day when Oliver spies Dicard, Lillith and one of the only other Minor Viziers on the ship enter the lounge.
