Nanny

It’s really not that difficult to convince her, one might think she really wants to tell him.

She says almost shyly, “It’s a childish malapropism really, a play on Nanny.  I call her Nasty.”

Candour

That gets a mock ‘I see’ face followed by, “Well, luckily I actually have to downplay my awesomeness for fear of stunning mere mortals by mere proximity.”

Competence

She listens intently as Oliver talks, and shows particular interest at his comment on his memory and on his possible career choices.

She gives a slightly surprised look at his final comment.

“Really?  Do they?”

Intelligence

Roll me three dice.  If it’s an 18 there was someone in Oliver’s class (at graduation) who was as smart (and successful) as he was.  If such a person was there, roll another die:  If it’s another 6 they were obviously smarter.

NB:  If it’s a 3, there was someone there who was stupider, but got better grades through luck, connections or stupid volumes of work.

  1. Oliver Starr says:

    Nanny:
Oliver will snort at that. “Is there anything that prompt.”

    Candour:
“I’ll put on my anti-brilliance gear, just to be safe.”

    Competence:
“Unless they speak in hushed voices when you pass in fear of offending you?”

    Intelligence:
    I rolled a 15
