7-013: Illuminator – Mess and Recreation Deck

Dropping Eaves

Possibly…but remember I have provided a bunch of information up front in that table that will take Oliver several sessions of listening to distill.

Computational Resources

Oliver has his own PDA, the Legion PDA Felicity gave him and his laptop on him.

In his Office is Argyle’s machine, a terminal connected to the Illuminator’s network and a stand-alone machine apparently designed for him to work on.

If he investigates it he will find that the stand-alone machine is a Compact, Genius, Hardened, Personal Computer packed into a somewhat portable case.

Back in the Mess

He’s about to get up and leave to do work when Chris appears in front of him, a beer in hand.

“Ollie!  You made it aboard.”

He is wearing a bold green T-shirt with The Green Cow Bar emblazoned across the front above a graphic of a brown and white mythological beast with big eyes, horns, hooves and a prominent udder that is breathing flame and holding a mug of foaming beer.

No worries, he’s not going to give up entirely but for now he’s heard enough. (and I don’t want to slow the pace with idle chatter simulator, maybe when the timetable is more set in stone we can have a daily… Cyclely? Cycley? Once per cycle update if he’s learned anything on the cycles he drops eaves. Maybe with an amusing anecdote of the day.

He’ll want to check out if that computer is… “safe” as well, I but he assumes the vizierate won’t mind him using it as a cryptography cracker if it’s for vizierate work. He might ask Nanny later.
He’s dismissing using the PDA Felicity has given him entirely while on this ship. It’s actually completely off, if possible. I just had a quick skim and there’s nothing in there about an alert being given if the PDA is offline.
For future reference I’ll call them PDA for his own and LDA for the Legion one.

“Oh. Uh, hey Chris. Getting comfortable, I see?”
Oliver looks unsettled, perhaps a little hunched over.
