Aston is still watching the Vizier, “Yes…yes it was. I’d say that was completely your fault.”He turns to Emerald, “Lots of people like to laugh at the funny, strange old Vizier behind his back, but they’re the ones who haven’t met him or haven’t thought it through. His mind is as frighteningly sharp as his tongue, and he sits on the planetary council of a Class-A colony, which presumably means he has some clout inside the Vizierate.
“Plus, that exchange tells me he’s been watching me, taking note…” His tone indicates he is not upset or angry with Winta, just obviously surprised, and perhaps shaken, by what jut happened. He frowns, “Dammit, I like my easy, selfish life!”

Side question – did the Vizier react in any way to Winta’s card? Or choose not to take it?
She gives Aston a smile and approaches slowly.
