He returns her smile, looks appreciatively at his new piece, and turns to Aston, “That really is thoughtful, and much appreciated, Aston.”
Aston gives a little nod, “You are most welcome. Now, if you’ll excuse us, I plan to ravage a tray of canapes.”
He holds out an arm for Winta, and moves to make space for the next well-wisher.
Leaving the immediate group is not quite as abrupt as Aston makes out, however. He spends some time stopping and making small talk with various members of Namaisia’s inner circle. Winta is introduced to several people who seem to be a mix of senior Bureaucrats and Planetary Secretariat workers, as well as a couple of people who seem to be Namaisia’s personal friends.
Before they leave, Lia will reach over and touch Namaisia’s arm.
