If she doesn’t know now, Lia will soon learn that having the Watch basically means being physically present in Control while the ship’s computer monitors the sensors.  If anything looks anomalous, the computer will tell her.  She can read as much as she wants.  If she gets desperate, she can actually do some active status monitoring, but she really doesn’t have to.
