No-one says anything, so Karmen continues, “Next item:  Special pay day.”

This brings a smile to most people’s faces.

“So, you all know how this works but I’ll go over it again:  The pay for this job was disguised as a legitimate charter fee.  Though the total price was higher than our standard charter rate. 

“The ship always gets paid first.  From the amount we were paid for this job I take the standard charter fee out and that covers the running costs, Bank share and all of our regular wages. 

“The amount remaining is split as bonus pay.  

“For bonus pay, every one of the regular crew,” Karmen emphasises the words, presumably due to Oliver’s presence, “is allocated a number of shares based on their position. My shares are then one third of that number and added to the total number of shares. The remaining payment amount is then divided by the total number of shares and allocated to each person accordingly.

“As usual, can I assume everyone is in agreement with that approach?”

She looks around the table.

Assuming neither Lia nor Oliver have any comment she will continue.

She runs through her list again, distributing to each crew member a box of unauthorised money cards, each to the value of ʄ2,000, coins to make up the balance and a pay slip with each box.  Nothing for Oliver this time, but Lia’s reads:

Assuming no-one says anything, she will look to Lia, “so, we’re going to distribute your goodies,” she indicates the boxes Lia’s has brought, “in the same way, only nothing for the ship this time as it’s crew’s business only, yes?”
